I want to show the user group stars (user ranking stars) as a progress bar.

Just like on Hackforums.net you can see that the user stars in the postbit appear as a progress bar thing.

There are two user group settings you should play with. The first is the "star image". You could point this to an image of a section of the progress bar (eg. bars). The second setting is "number of stars" which indicates how many times the "star image" should be repeated.

Since the progress bar sample you posted included the incomplete segment, too, you may have to create a custom "star image" for each group and set the "number of stars" to 1.
