I put the variable in the member_profile template but it doesn't display it at all.

I'm assuming you used the "{$memprofile['additional_groups']}" variable? If so, do you have a test forum I could look at? I might be able to look into this a bit more for you. (PM me so I don't forget to check back with this thread. My life has been hectic so I've been a bit MIA lately. )

I have PMed you with a temp admin account so you can try and figure it out.
Yes I did use that exact variable
