This is what I find out and wrote on the forum from my hoster.


I have got a forum what is big, but I thought that I was loosing very fast MB. I was looking for why this was.

I go to directadmin and looked for the bigest directory

domains 8.53M
imap 4.00k
mail 0.50k
public_html 0.03k

clicked on domains

../ Up a Level 0.50k
ikf-forum.eu 8.53M

clecked on ikf-forum.eu

../ Up a Level 0.50k
.htpasswd 0.50k
logs 2.53M
private_html 2.50k
public_ftp 1.00k
public_html 5.84M
stats 166k

When I watch the log files I see that this is big, every day a new one is made (Apr-2007.tar.gz.) What is the meaning of this and can I delete it.

Apr-2007.tar.gz aren't that just back-ups?

Yes I think that that are just back-ups, but I will be 100% sure. Its not a file made by mybb I guess.
I think the files are made by the my server. So I ask them.

I saw in phpmyadmin that I have 78 tables with 4,3 MB used.
So I think it had to do with those log files.
My forum is 4 days online now and I think 1 MB a sounds better!!

I've started running some forums and including the main site the total database size is about 1.5mbs. I think it only has half the number of threads compared to your forum but there could be lots of other functions that your forum has.

I think my database is much bigger than that.
