Themes are not compatible between 1.8* and 2.0* because 2.0* will use a different engine for theme and template management.
You'll need to have the theme created for 1.8* and then pay for it to be updated to work with 2.0* - which will be expensive because the theme will basically need to be recreated from scratch.
