A search of this topic yielded no results; however apologies if my search terms were incorrect and the issue has actually already been reported.

On our MyBB (v1.8.6), if we have a forum nested in another forum, for example:

Forum
>>>>Sub Forum

The main forum will continue to mark posts in the Sub Forum as unread, despite them being read. We have two such forums that have sub-forums and they both exhibit the same issue.

If nobody can reproduce then we'll happily accept it's our MyBB rather than a global issue.

There is an option in the ACP to also mark parents of subforums as read at the cost of some performance. Do you have that option ticked?

The "attempts" often don't work, but a connected issue has already been pushed to github, so marking this as duplicate.
