when i make a post and want to add a video it shows up like this

how can i get it to show the video instead of the link

Go to your usercp and check your settings for viewing videos in posts.

Did you tried

[video=youtube]your youtube video URL[/video]

Btw @Leefish is right if you disabled videos from your usercp then you cant see them.

now how do i let users know to do this before posting a youtube video

There is one already. Just click the video button [Image: video.png]

in the editor, select youtube and insert the video url.
