Hello, i had a forum with the 1.6.4 and for some reason my host deleted all the forum data and forum also, now i wanted to put in the new 1.8.6 my oldest database and i can not, can please anyone help me?

Thanks
Have you all database and server files?
No, just an outdated database file from server, this is a free host and they said that it was abuse, so they deleted without no warning what so ever, it's in their readme file.

Thanks
if the database is not corrupt then it can be used for upgrading.
upload MyBB 1.8.6 files through file manager or ftp. import your old database into server.
connect that database to files by using ~/inc/config.php file and then run the upgrade process ..

What i did was, create a new database in server with the sql backup from the old site and then i installed the normal full install of 1.8.6.

So what i must do is:

Do the same as database, put all files from the full installation into main folder ant then ~/inc/config.php file  I will put the username password and database name created by the backup file from older version.

Is this correct?
^ yes.
if you have already installed MyBB 1.8.6 afresh then you may rename config.php file as config.old file,
make a new config.php file and put the old database details to connect and finally run upgrade process
Ok i will try it and then i will get back with news, by the way when you say "finally run upgrade process", you are refering to this->http://docs.mybb.com/1.8/install/upgrade/.

Full install, right?

Thanks

I made the query in phpmyadmin and SELECT tid FROM mybb_tasks WHERE file='versioncheck'  retrieves 12
