For some reason, I am unable to log out of my forum.

When I mouse over the logout button it shows the command:

(my forum URL)/member.php?action=logout&logoutkey= and then a big long hexadecimal number.

If it's any help, I recently upgraded from 1.6 to 1.8 and I am using a custom theme which is the MyBB default which has been duplicated, renamed and then changed in global.css

Any ideas?

which browser you are using ? can you clear its cookies & cache and check again login & logout ..
just now I checked your forum & logout working fine for me (firefox browser)

Ah, ok. I'll do that and let you know. No luck with the TYL plugin then?
