is there a way to add custom php code to eht right bar in the theme, like paypal donation....custom text?

is there a nice poll plugin that will show results somehow?

you can use just plain html in the templates to add any custom script to the side bar.. alternatively, use Template Conditionals or PHP in Templates plugin to add php directly in the template..
