I would love to see a latest threads page as default option,

A lost of the posters on our site would rather be greeted with a latest posts page instead of a category page as default, it would be great to be able to choose what default page guests and posters can see.

there is a mod for 1.86 that sets the default start page (depending on how long you have been away ) either index or portal where there is a the lastest threads.....

they need to improve the portal by allowing more options as to the forums and posts that go there

There is a mod for 1.8 which puts a box above the category page which lists the latest posts and threads (configureable).

that would just slow down the index

need that landing page
