The plugin advanced sidebars transformed my forum. Simply incredible, turning it from a very static existence into a living entity. By changing background colors of the various sidebars it further enhanced the forum's look. No other forum I've seen comes close...though I suppose impossible to be objective regarding that, I've had several comments to the same effect.... 

Sidebars core with functionality similar to Advanced Sidebar.

i think in the era of handheld, sidebars are an anachronism.....

i think better use of notifications makes forum come alive: new posts, new threads, new replies, new polls....in a growl js popups even

contents of sidebars need to be in another page like the Portal
