Ever sense I moved over to Nginx some features such as the drop down for the edit button haven't worked. I believe it's either that or the SQL database however I don't see how it could effect elements like the drop down.

That sounds more like a JavaScript issue than an Nginx or SQL issue. As said, a link to your forum would be helpful
