Okay, when I try to create a thread, the editor text is black and the new reply editor text is black

Just edit the stylesheet of the editor.

Is it with admin cp access?

It doesn't have to be, I'll tell you what to edit if it isn't and if it is with acp access I'll do the edits for you.
