When browsing a forum, at the left of your thread titles there are 2 columns with icons. The first one shows wether there are new posts or not, if it's a hot topic, wether you posted in it, etc. And the second one shows an icon you can choose while making the thread.

Do you ever you the left column with icons? Do you ever look at it?

Yup. Almost always. Hot topics grab my attention, then I go to looking at titles.

I do; They help me keep track of whats closed/moved most often

I most certainly do.

I always use them.

ON occasion I look to see if it has a black star on it
