Hello,

I was hoping I could get some help.

I am using the forum for an internal forum and no outside registering will occur.

I need to disable the need for registering and logins and pull a username from a variable that exists elsewhere.

Basically I have a list of usernames users use for other internal sites and I would like them to click a forum link and already be registered based on that username and not need to register or login.

I am trying to hit the database before it writes anything to the database for users but the amount of files to search is insane.

Why not setup a few usernames/passwords(in the acp) then give the info out to those people to use.
You can always use member1:password1 member2:password2..etc

When they login, make sure they set the cookie to live forever so they're not logged out
