Is there an option to disable users from editing their post / thread after a certain amount of time ? I have seen this feataure on some mybb forums.

it is a group based privilege.
admin panel >> users & groups >> groups >> [edit user group] >> Forums and Posts -->
scroll down for Editing/Deleting Options & Edit Time Limit
