I have my forum mydomain.com/forum
now i want to transfer this to mydomain.com without the forum directory.
Kindly give complete steps to do this so that I don't make any error.
first
put forum offline,
change forum url &
cookie settings at
site details of
configuration section
see related guidance here =>
url & cookie settings
then browse to
forum directory at your
web host's file manager &
move all contents of forum folder to
public_html
you may have to clear your browser cookies (& cache)
no need to change anything in database, config files, and .htaccess and robots.txt ?
above suggested method changes settings in the database & config files.
if you are using Google SEO plugin then it gives required changes at the plugins section.
robots.txt rules should be manually changed.
