I have noticed while browsing through the support inquiries here many times that IcyBoards users seem to get turned away for support. I am just wondering why this is and if there is anything differently IcyBoards can do so our users are more accepted into the community here. We spend a lot of time, money, and other resources running a platform that helps people who are just starting out, can't afford hosting, or don't want to worry about managing their hosting. It's almost offensive in a way to see those users get turned away from support here. It's like someone offering support sees "IcyBoards" and immediately thinks "nop, no support here plz".

Now I am not trying to raise a stink, be rude, or show any disrespect. I am well aware that IcyBoards is a customized version of MyBB, but it is still MyBB. We are running MyBB 1.8 just like every other forum here. We follow and enforce all of the common community rules (that I am aware of). We do not support those who remove the copyright, nor do we allow illegal activity of any kind.

There are some threads like this which clearly need to be addressed by IcyBoards. However, even this one can be answered here by doing a quick search.

Ones like this are regarding styling. The first one is a simple styling issue and the poster was immediately told to go to IcyBoards for support. Why? Why are those comments not marked as spam and removed? The second one was even told by a staff member.

Anyway, thanks for reading.
^ I must absolutely agree with this.

I personally feel as though Icyboard users should get support here as well (unless it is particularly an issue that Icyboards needs to take care of). However anything regarding styling, coding, etc. can be answered here at MyBB as Icyboards forum hosting USES MyBB.
I would - for one - encourage this.

Perhaps you guys can collaborate any (known) differences so that support can be provided here?

I have opened an internal discussion on the issue to make this right and offer better support to this segment of our user base.

Go proactivity!
I have no problems supporting anything that's directly tied to MyBB. I see IcyBoards as any other host, albeit one that caters directly to MyBB. The only case when we should be unable to help is when the issue is caused by a host (such as an account being terminated for whatever reasons, the database server being down, etc.).

The only solution that did apply to the IcyBoard user was this one.

I agree with Euantor directing him to get support over IcyBoards to get a proper "fix" to the issue.

That is the correct answer and is the same answer he would have received there. The error is not unique to IcyBoards in any way. It would happen to any forum not utilizing full text indexes.
