I have installed and uninstalled the Rin Editor plugin several times and activated and deactivated the plugin, but cannot get the wysiwyg editor to display at all.  I have tried using each of the editor styles in ACP -> Templates & Style but none do anything.  I have checked several of the templates to make sure that the rin code was inserted into the templates and this code is in the newthread and newreply tamplates:  {$rinbutquick}.

I had removed the {$posticons} and {$codebuttons} in each of the templates, but I tried adding them back just in case they could have an effect on the Rin Editor, but that didn't help.

I did notice a couple of pages back where it was mentioned that some .js files had not been extracted and were missing from the root/jscripts/editor/plugins/table/ directory.  I checked the pluign files and there is no table folder in the jscripts/editor/plugins directory.  I then tried redownloading the plugin from here and the github page, but again nether set contains a table directory

I am at a loss of what else to try, and would appreciate any help anyone can offer in getting the plugin to work.

You are THE MAN   
Instead of spending couple of hours digging php and javascript I should listen more carefully what you were saying. 
For now everyhing works like a charm and my forum users will be able to upload photos directly to my own server in easy way. 
This is especially important when using mobile phones.

P.S I'm trying to make a small donation for all your effords, but when I click on your plugin paypal button it says "We were unable to decrypt the certificate id."

if so... are you using mybb 1.4? or using mybb 1.8 with 1.4 theme?


unfortunately this plugin is only compatible with mybb 1.8 and with a theme based on mybb 1.8...
and not a theme that using prototype library etc...

Actually no.  That is a very old and outdated forum.  The forum that I am trying to install Rin Editor on is a fresh install of 1.8.24 using the default theme, but with a few css and template edits, here:  https://aokapartmentlocators.com/forum

I have already done that several times, except for that instead of reverting the templates to the originals I just made sure that all references to rin were removed. I did not revert them because I have also removed the {$posticons} and {$codebuttons} from all templates and installed the Google SEO plugin which does modify at least the showthread template.

I have now deactivated and uninstalled the Rin Editor plugin and verified the rin code does not exist in any of the templates. If you want to take a look I am happy to setup an admin account for you and give you access to the ACF and even the server itself if you would like to take a look.

this plugin use the {$codebuttons} to replace with {$rinbutquick}. https://github.com/martec/Rin-Editor/blo...#L493-L500

so... if you deleted the {$codebuttons} from template, this plugin never will work because plugin activation script will not find the reference to replace with {$rinbutquick}.

because of this i said to you revert to original... if you don't want revert to original, you need unistall my plugin and insert {$codebuttons} to respective template. after that install again.

Okay, thank you for that information. I will revert the templates and just remove the {$posticons} and replace the Google SEO coding, and try to install again.
