it turns out that myBB will not recognize many of teh new email addresses.
 One I used was ********.xyz
 It refused to recognize it when trying to get a password reset..
 Is something in the coding I know.
 I have a programmer that is going to look into that, and modify the board i am using.
 It will also not allow admin to use the same email address for two different users.
 In my case, I always set up a second account for testing.
 I got used to doing that way back when I ran dialup BBS's.
 Of course, that was before email addresses and the net were that common.
 I got some software via CI$ as we called Compuserve, LOL
 Meantime, if anyone could look into modifying the code to allow all the new possible email addresses.

 I sould add, most of my programming was basic, BBS stuff, and basic HTML....

MyBB uses a simple regex to validate email addresses that doesn't reject any "new" TLDs. Additionally there is no validation at all when resetting the password.

There is a setting for that.

Unless the domain is not only new, but also an IDN, which won't be accepted if you are setting/chaning Email (not resetting it as Stefan said) - this is a known issue.

I erred, I was a bit off kilter when I posted.
 The forum software that disliked the .xyz was using phpBB
 I still need to make them aware of it.

 Till today, I did not know it would be a problem.
 phpBB requires email to be able to recover password, if you lose it.

My forum refuses to register .co.za domain e-mails.

How do we fix this?

I just registered with a random .co.za email.

You are now denied support for the lack of MyBB credits BTW.
