Hey guys,

Newbie here with a question...

I'm trying to install mybb, but for some reason I cant CHMOD the following files to 666

./uploads
./uploads/avatars


the other 2 (./inc/settings.php and ./inc/config.php) did fine, but when I go to change the uploads one i get this error msg -

550 Could not change perms on uploads: Permission denied
! Chmod failed. May not be supported on remote site

and of course the intsallation stoped saying-

File Uploads Directory Writable: Not Writable
Avatar Uploads Directory Writable: Not Writable



help please???

You'll need to contact your host to get them changed as they seem to have set some restrictions

Have you tried CHModing via cpanels file viewer and by ftp?
