Good Day 
 
Hope someone can help me.

I am completely new to MyBB, I have installed the product correctly however I am recieving a Error 42 when trying to run the package. The MyBB forums suggest to follow yourdomain/install/upgrade.php to fix, however I already deleted the install file as the install instructions requested. 

What do I do now? 

I will be grateful if anyone can assist me.

Have you downloaded the latest version (1.8.6)? If yes, it's strange.

However, install is a directory, not a file, so are you sure you deleted it? If yes, try to remove all, download the latest version and install it again.

There is a new version 1.8.7

Upload changed files package and run upgrade to up to date to latest 1.8.7 version.

Or download 1.8.6 version and upload only install dir and run upgrade.

Make sure db prefix are correct besides db and settings file i remember that error ocurs on db prefix bad and no db load so you gotta that error if i remember fine.

Anyway runing update have to fix it i gues.
