Check on MyBB’s default theme. If it’s there, the buttons have been removed from your theme.

I also remember the team saying something along the lines of they don’t want to have an impact on privacy, so ignoring posts/user’s completely will probably have to be a plugin. I haven’t heard of any plans to change this.

how does ignoring users impact on privacy?

Yeah, the ignore feature requires buddy listing.

these two things should not have the same on/off switch.
