I want to have a go at making my own theme, however I don't want to start from the default mybb theme, maybe something that's just simple borders and whatnot.

Just wondering if anything like this exists?

I will suggest to remove content of global.css which will remove all styling from the theme and you will be left with barebones theme.

Lol i agree with @WallBB global.css is the only default stylesheet have all styling info about theme.
