in general, a post can be deleted in 2 methods - soft delete (temporary delete) & permanent delete
each post has a delete button - it is used for soft delete.
for permanent delete, post needs to be selected using its top right check box
And at the bottom of page, in Inline Post Moderation tools permanent delete option should be selected
