Not every user who uses MyBB would use TeamSpeak so that wouldn't need to be integrated in the core, it would be suited as a plugin better.

Yep, as above a plugin would make much more sense. MyBB 2.0 will have support for logging in via common social networks (Twitter, Facebook, Google, etc), with the ability to easily add other providers. It would likely be trivial to write an integration for Teamspeak, though I've never looked at their API (if they even offer one).
