I could only find one other question on this. The template editor recently hasn't been highlighting the template's code.

Ex: 

admin panel >> Home >> Preferences >> Turn on / off Code Mirror --> select On & save

if above preference is already set to On and code highlighting is not working then
run file verification tool from below location. what does it report ?

admin panel >> tools & maintenance >> file verification
ignore reported images & ignore files reported from install folder & its sub-folders

Fixed, thanks. Code Mirror was set to off.

sorry, bump this thread.
then what should I do after that? "syntax highlighting in template editor" still does not work
