I know this is an old version but there is a reason for it.

I owned a website and never actually installed the updates, then i decided to sell the site and so backed up the database etc.

Ive installed 1.2.3 on the server and have tried to upload the database however it doesn work

http://gaming-forums.org/forums/portal.php - there is some php/sql stuff i dont understand
http://gaming-forums.org/forums/ just a blank page

has anyone got any suggestions?

Look at your inc/config.php and make sure every input there is correct.

Your settings are missing.

there is a file called settings.php in the inc folder - although it is blank except for <php>, and ive just checked the cofig file it all look to be correct.

The settings.php is blank. Which is exactly what I meant. Delete it and it will rebuild itself.
