Hi,

I have my forum running on MyBB 1.8.7. MyBB is installed in a folder named "forum", in public_html. The URL to site is www.anekchidiya.com and for the forum www.anekchidiya.com/forum.

I installed Google SEO plug-in and the sitemap is on this URL - http://www.anekchidiya.com/forum/misc.ph...emap=index

I put the following redirect entries in htaccess.txt file on the root -

But now when I try the following URLs (from the sitemap XML generated by plugin), I am getting a HTTP 404 -

Please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Hello.
First of all, save the file as .htaccess and not htaccess.txt.
But as you can see at the text you have past in here, a lot of them is just guide and info, not commandos, so delete all text beside commandos. (if you look at the first rule, it start after the text # Make this rule the first rewrite rule in your .htaccess!, well the Google seo rule/commando in .htaccess, you have to keep the RewriteEngine On,

So try to clean up the texts, and save it as .htaccess not at a txt file

I have removed lots of comments, but kept some to help me. And renamed the file to .htaccess. Now the file looks like -

Now the call to http://www.anekchidiya.com/forum/sitemap...xml?page=1 is being redirected, but to the forum home page. Please help.

.htaccess file is used as rewrite rules file by your Apache Server
if you are using ftp client or file manager at web host panel then you have to configure viewing of hidden files

Please check my edited post.
I think as per rewrite rules, http://www.anekchidiya.com/forum/sitemap...xml?page=1 must reqrite to http://www.anekchidiya.com/forum/misc.ph...map=forums

But when I checked for this URL, it's not present. Do I need to do anything else to make Sitemap work?

I think the plug-in isn't working at all. Because SEO friendly URLs are also not being generated.
