Hi,

I had to change my hosting server. I took backup of my forum contents from FTP and took backup of sql db from mybb portal itself. The sql backup file is *sql.gz and no option to restore from mybb portal.

When i tried to upload *.sql.gz from phpmy admin it gave error.

Any one can help with this please?

What error are you getting in phpmyadmin? I assume you created the database first and tried to import the files into the database?

I tried a few things
-yes database was created and then tried to import but gave error
-And also dropped all tables and tried to import database and it gave same error.

Try this:
- Upload database in phpmyadmin as it is (dont create any db or import your db to it)
- What error!

After this make sure table prefix matches in settings.php

What error is it giving you?

The error is no database selected. Did you select the database on the left side before you tried to import the database?

The error happening while i was directly uploading to mysql database without creating a database

Below error happened when I created a database and uploaded *.sql.gz from myphpadmin
