MyBB Community Forums

I would like to suggest for a later update a new feature which allows the Administrator to split the ForumHome into multiple pages. This is a feature at vBulletin.org and I would love to see this as a feature or a Mod for MyBB.

I've used it before and still do on my vBulletin ran forum - but I'd like to have more of these great features added on for the MyBB community. It requires a Plugin and an extra code modification in fuctions_forumlist.php

It enables the Administrator to make say - Nintendo Gamers, into a seperate forum home and thus creates an almost dedicated forum look. It creates the Address as : url.com/index.php?page=2.

I would also like to add in a voice for a strong infraction system for a later build.

Having multiple (almost) separate forums is a great idea, but is fit for plugins/mods, not for main distribution.

You can already do this.

Example:

And mybb allows you to force a seperate theme for a forums so it will certainly appear to be a seperate forum.

Oddly, this is a feature I am looking for to help me finalise my decision to leave vbulletin and come over to myBB.
labrocca, you cannot already do this at all, if you look at my existing vB site here:

you will see in the upper navbar a link to preternatural, now look at the main index, there are no forums relating to that, now click one of the links under preternatural, you see the main index is gone and there are now an entirely new set of forums in place.
There are a few mod's I would need to be working with myBB before I leave vbulletin in favour of this forum solution, this is a major one on my list.

Labrocca's tab thing would seem to do the job just fine.

Hi Scoutie44, I just checked that out, it's not exactly the ideal solution, for some really odd reason that mod will only allow a single category to be held within a tab.
The mod I am using for this on my vB site allows me to place any number of categories and forums within a single split page.

Really? Most websites say otherwise:

That site has multiple tabs but each tab has only 1 category per tab, as I said.
If you look at my site here:

You will see there are 3 categories with their own forums and they are all separated from the main index.

The main tab has 2 categories tho..
