There isn't a registered user named "Google".

If I look at the full online list, there's an entry for "Google".

Google is a web spider.

Take a look in AdminCP > Configuration > Spiders / Bots
I was reading this thread.

http://community.mybb.com/thread-31907.html

Near the end of the thread, there's a plugin for adding more spiders.

What are the pros/cons of doing so?
The plugin referenced there is from 2009 (http://mods.mybb.com/view/add-spiders) :o

Personally, I don't see the point myself. The major ones like Google are already being indexed automatically so that's good enough for me but it depends what your forum's audience is. If you want a worldwide audience then the most spiders you can get will work the best as you'll get all of the local search engines that different countries use. Make sure your site can handle the traffic though, albeit small. Toungue

There are no cons and it is actually very useful to do this. Instead of just seeing 3 guests active on your site, if they were bots, they would be identified by name. You don't need a plugin to do this, you can add them manually in ACP -> Configuration -> Spiders

You can only edit and delete from there, right? I don't see how to "add".
There's a tab for Add New Bot

Now I see it, thanks.

Just so you can see when they're on the site really, doesn't really do anything other than that.
The main tab for Spiders / Bots also says when the spider last visited your site.
