I don't understand the point of having both the word copyright and the © symbol. Mind if I just keep the ©? It seems so redundant right now. Oh, and are the year numbers necessary?

What is put in as the MyBB copyright can not be reduced at all. That violates the terms on which you downloaded MyBB on.

MyBB 1.4's powered by/copyright lines have changed (see Tikitiki's blog post on it) - however, that new format is not allowed until 1.4.
