Hello Everybody,

I am currently setting up a site that is currently not public, but I will give you a description. It is a website that enables you to view a telescope and get tours through space from appointed people. I would like to use a image used on the myBB twitter account and do not know if it is copyrighted.

Here is the image:



I am using the image on the index page to show that we have forums where people can talk about space. There is no clear sign that it is or isn't copyrighted, so if you know, please tell me, and if it is, refer me to somebody on the forum that can give me permission to use the image!

No it's not copyrighted as long as you keep the "Powered by MyBB" in the footer with the link to mybbs website and here is the license agreement: https://www.mybb.com/about/license/

The logo and MyBB icon are part of the MyBB brand. Unless it falls under fair use you can't use it for your own projects.

That's the MyBB software. MyBB's branding doesn't fall under that license. Default copyright law applies.

No, you cannot use it as it is the official logo of the MyBB project, unless your use falls under fair use, but it doesn't sound like your use case would fit within that exception.
