Hi,

When I'm done adding the files to my directory, it asks you to make them all "666" right?

Well when I do that, the files and folders just "disappear" and when I search for them, they don't show up and act like they are deleted.

Please help!

No, we ask you to CHMOD two files to 666: inc/config.php and inc/settings.php

How do you CHMOD it?

I use Cyberduck as my FTP client.

But how do I input the code? Where in Cybercuck do I do it?

I am using Transmit now, and I go to file---> Get Info---> Then change the CHMOD Number (Octal) to 666, but the files still disappear.

Do they disappear only when you try to CHMOD? Have you tried installing the forum without CHMODing the files?

The octal number should be 0666 - 666 might mean 6660 which is afaik invalid

So just put the folder in the directory? Ya when I go to to www.myurl.com/forum
it shows up but you can't acsess the files that I need to.

Now when it asks you to got to inc/config.php, do I just CHMOD or change the permissions to the config.php file, or do I do it to BOTH the folder, and the file?

EDIT: I didn't have to change the files, the requirment check said that they were writable! So i guess it should work!
