What are your cookies settings set as? Try and check:

i didnt have it set as anything. But now i set it as: .mysite.com and /forums/
it didnt work...
What is the URL to your forum?
Please set the cookie settings as follows:
Cookie Domain: .ff12-europe.com
Cookie Path: /forums/
Then logout of both Admin CP and front end, and clear your cookies and cache from your browser.

They're still set as blank and "/". Perhaps your inc/settings.php isn't CHMODed 777?
