^ what is the error you got when uploaded attachment & page reloaded ?
navigate to below location in admin panel & search for upload_tmp_dir (use browser search)
admin panel >> tools & maintenance >> view php info
does it have some value ?

MyBB could not find the theme with the file you uploaded. Please check the file
upload_tmp_dir in my php info does have value.
