is there any functional shoutbox plugin for version 1.8.?

This is what I use myself.

I dunno where to add {$dvz_shoutbox} what file should I choose?

go to Admin CP >>>> Templates & Styles >>>>> Templates >>>> Theme name template >>>>>> Index Page Template >>>>> Index

paste it after {$header}

And how can I activate it? I see no plugins when I access Configuration -> plugins .. And there is in /inc/plugins/ file dvz_shoutbox.php
