I'm bringing my boards over from vBulletin, and I love MyBB, but I'm having problems getting my theme to look halfway decent. It's a horror board, so imagine a lot of dark colors. My previous theme wasn't that technical, at all. I just need someone to help me make it look presentable on MyBB.

I'll seriously pay someone to help me, or even offer up some major shout outs / advertising on some massive social media accounts I have.

This is what my forums used to look like:

http://web.archive.org/web/2015100103405.../forum.php

And this is what I'm working with now, lol:

http://talkhorror.com/boards/

It doesn't need to be an exact copy of what I used to have, but it definitely needs to look better than what I have now lol.

Someone please help?
The old vB forum you have is using the default vB theme but modified a little bit.

Why don't you use just a black theme and then made a few changes?

Take a look at the mods site: https://community.mybb.com/mods.php?acti...ory=themes
Yeah, I guess I could do that, but I don't know how to make mods like changing the post status icons and stuff. Like, I don't want custom ones for each forum or anything.. I just want to change those icons to the ones you see on the VB forum I had.

And I don't know how to add a background to the whole page like I had before and stuff Sad
Add to the body tag in global.css

body {
background-image: url("images/background.png");
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}
Thanks Ashley! Big Grin

Does anyone know how I can change the layout of the postbit? I want the user info / avatar to be on the side of every post, rather than on top.

In ACP under settings, show thread settings -> change to classic layout. What you have now is horizontal layout.
Thanks so much, Ashley! <3

So, I just installed the "Dim," template. However, even when I select the "classic layout," under Showthread settings, it's still displaying the horizontal layout... hrm...

Thanks for using my theme..., though it is marked as development phase as there are things I have yet to finish on it for example "pagination and postbit icon sections of thread status that I haven't fully completed yet" and some other minor cosmetic things. Unfortunately I have not gotten the free time yet to get to it hence also why I have not been very active here as of late..., but the base of the theme works just fine. In reference to your issue perhaps try the following while logged into the front end:

Also check "Thread View Options"

"Display posts in classic mode"

Also just a tip and thought..., if you are trying to duplicate your vb theme exactly then you could start with this as base:
https://community.mybb.com/mods.php?action=view&pid=507

There are also a few cosmetic and minor issues under the hood with this  along with a few missing images/icons..., at least the last time I checked it but if you know what you are doing all can be fixed rather easily..., and then you can modify css to continue making it look closer and closer to you exact old vb theme.

Thanks for posting! I'm using your theme and customizing it just a hint.

One quick question, does anyone know how I can change the Forum Status Icons? I want to use the ones that were like on my old forums.
I will just suggest to try a new theme, you will find huge amount of themes in MyBB community with uniqueness my friend or go for a custom theme solution.
