Hello there, I am trying to add a link next to the $formattedname template on member_profile template?. How would I do this? I have searched relentlessly and have not found it. Searching did not reveal anything :/ Thank you

There is no $formattedname template. If you mean add a link next to or below $formattedname - well then that is where to do it, in member_profile template.
You want to add a link next to the formattedname?
If I'm understanding you right, go to the member_profile template, look for formattedname, and next to it pop in <a href="link-here">Text</a>
