nearly 2000 posts have gone missing on my site. Any1 know a reason why this could have happened?
I had over 5000 posts and now got over 3000.
Can members close threads? is there a set time limit for threads to be use?
Steve
Do you have any plugins enabled?
Also, maybe did anyone restore a backup.
There are no limits, and members can not close threads.
members can delete their own threads though...
You can set a time limit in which users may edit/delete their own posts within. This means that after 'x' amount of time they will not be able to modify their post/thread.
To do this:
Admin CP --> Board Settings --> Change --> Posting --> *Change 'Edit Time Limit' to whatever time you please*
Did you have some rather large threads (with many posts within them)? If you did and a member decided to remove the post that started the thread - all the posts that followed in that thread will have been removed too.
Yes i have plugins on, it is the welcome message and hoteditor.
Due to being busy with developing the rest of the site the last time i did a back up was 2 days ago, i will make sure i will do it daily.
The time limit was on 0
Thanks
You can also set up a Cron Job in cPanel that will do regular backups for you.
Thanks.
Someone has said they delete their first post which meant others went.
The problem i have now is that some members are on like -49 posts. how do i get them back onto 0?
Thanks
Steve
You can edit the user in the admin cp and set his post count manually to 0.
