How about adding more options to the forum options, "Access and Permission Options" to setup special users and usergroups who do not have to enter the password to enter the forum. (like what IPB forums have).

I personally want it for my clan forums.

The clan general discussion forum is passworded and viewable by everyone. I want everyone in the clan usergroup to be able to look at the forum without having to type in(and remember) the password each time. Why do I want the clan members to be able to bypass the password? couldn't I just have the forum only viewable by clan members? No, because I want to be able to give the password out to non-clan members to allow them to view the forum as a "guest" Understand?

I think this is a good idea.

I just created you a plugin which should be of use

You can download it here.

You just activate it and set the settings through the ACP. You enter the groups and the forum id. Those groups will not need to enter the password. Everyone else does


EDIT: Unfortunatly you can't do individual users yet..
