So I recently got my mail functions working however it's sending from my personal email via the website. Is there a way so I can make it be sent from a different email.
it would be better to create a domain based mail ID (through web host control panel) - eg. [email protected] - and use it for forum

forum admin panel >> Configuration (Settings) >> Site Details >> Admin Email

If I don't have a web host would I need to host a mailserver?
Why don't you try mailgun/targethero or maybe you can use yandex mail.

I am using mailgun, this is what the emails are saying: "[email protected] via gangsrp.com"
change your admin email in configuration > Site details to something related with your domain like i use [email protected] for my upcoming forum. You can set a return email if you want replies on any other email.
Does it need to be a working email? & I have my admin email set to [email protected]

I wouldn't recommend making your admin email a no reply email.

Its just an email i rarely check but I do have it forwarding to my main email.
You can set a return email(check other options in same wizard) if you want to receive replies if you are using a no reply admin email.
