I suggest we add staff online in the sidebar, like the 1.8 and 1.6 plugin functionality. I feel like this would be a good addition.

As I said, I'd be willing to accept a Pull Request adding this. It'd be trivial to write, once I've settled the usergroup/permission system into a stable state.
As long as it is able to be disabled I am okay with this. It is a risk by displaying the names of all accounts with elevated permissions.

It's not as "in your face"... A staff online feature would display on the index page.
