Hey there guys 
I have been trying to use the pm.php file in the inc/datahandlers/ folder to send messages in custom PHP function I've created.
Sadly it has not worked, and the file itself is so long I don't even know where to begin. The latest tutorial I could find on this was from 1.6, and it seems like a bit has changed since then.
If anyone could tell me what is needed and not needed to write a send_pm function I would greatly appreciate it. It would be similar to how messages are sent after a buddy request is received or accepted.
If no one offers an answer I will attempt to fix this myself but I'll have to come back to it later as it's a waste of time to stay stuck on a problem when there are many others to solve
