Hi
I have an existing drupal 7 site, my tech team have advised me to create the MyBB on a seperate domain, for example BB.mydomain.com because of potential conflicts.
You then have to make sure your styling has the same look 'n feel of your main domain.
How did you solve this?
Cheers

^ a sub-domain can be created at web host panel & MyBB forum can be installed easily.
visual integration can be done without much difficulty or by hiring a theme coder.

You can even use a folder. Both are more less the same.

You can merge users with this plugin here: https://www.mybbaddons.com/board/thread-1292.html
Not sure if it still works for Drupal 7 though.

would you be able to use an iframe into an existing page?
<- snip ->
that way, it wouldnt disturb the look and feel too much and i would avoid costly coding
