I'm getting the above SQL Error for the sitemaps. How do I fix this? I'm using this plugin: https://github.com/frostschutz/MyBB-Google-SEO

Help for plugins should be in the plugin support forum. The plugin creator needs to fix that query.

How do I have to install this updated file? Is it ok to overwrite the old file?

You'll have to manually make the edits. And overwriting files (as long as they're not core) is fine. It's such a basic edit it won't be some huge issue
