Hello, I have the new version of mybb installed.

I would like to know what the use is of Forum Type when creating a new category/forum

What's the point of that. I can not see how it effects the front end.

Category -> Group of forums.

Forum -> Displays topics.

-> Category
----> Forum
----> Forum 2

-> Category 2
----> Forum 3
----> Forum 4

You can also have categories inside other categories/forums, the difference is essentially that categories cannot contain threads directly, only forums, e.g. https://community.mybb.com/forum-175.html is a category.
