1) Is there a changed files upgrade?
This doc mentions one, but I can't find it:

2) Regardless of if I do a changed files upgrade, or full upgrade, what will happen to all of the plugins and other template modifications?
3) I also had to make modifications to member.php to solve an issue when sending emails (as described in this post):

Am I going to have to do those changes again? Or will they already be there?
4) Are there more details as to what changed between 1.8.7 and 1.8.8? It just says "securities and maintenance" upgrade.

2. In this upgrade from 1.8.7 to 1.8.8, your templates and modifications should not be affected.
3. Check the package if it is having member.php update or not. If it is not there than you are okay, else you will have to.

Thanks for all of the answers. And for providing the upgrade package link to the changed files package.
I downloaded and scanned through the package. member.php is in there.
I'll take a backup of my current one then before upgrading.
I just finished the upgrade to 1.8.9.
AutoMedia 3.0.3 doesn't seem to be working.
Could you clarify how, as that's not a lot to go on

One other issue I'm seeing is that if I have a multi-page thread, and I go to a post on a page that's not the last page, and select "quote", then go to the quick editor to insert the quote into the editor, it's not doing it.
It's not inserting the quote into the editor.
I just get the javascript spinning icon.

You could if you wanted to but there would be no need. If you edit the .htaccess file and add your IP you will be the only person who can access the forum. Everyone else would get a 403 denied error so they wouldn't even get to see MyBB.

Can someone help with AutoMedia not working anymore?
The quoting malfunction of quoting only working when I quoted something on the last page of a post, doesn't seem to be happening today.
