...it was bad enough that 1.8.9 changed a few admin permissions so that my forum's administrators could no longer manage new users awaiting activation...
now, it has made many (not all, but many) my forum users' avatars disappear.
I tried uploading a new avatar and it still will not display.
Help?
Addendum:
For those users whose avatars are still showing, I can right-click on them and view the image in my browser.
But for those whose avatars are not showing...a vertical white rectangular box is showing where the avatar should be.
Right-clicking on a white box brings up a 403 (forbidden) error.

Kindly disregard. The problem was a CHMOD error in the /uploads/avatars folder. Changed to 777, problem solved.
